This week I found the most amazing concealer. Yep, drop everything and buy this It's literally the best. Long lasting, crease less, your eye shadow will not budge. I have used this mirror in 4 clients bathrooms. It is by far my favorite. It is also on sale and comes in new finishes. Go check it out if you are in the market. I also just discovered this floor mirror which could be it's twin enlarged.

Hello there!
Today we are talking laundry rooms, how we can make them efficient, pretty, and practical.
If you are coming over from My Soulful Home, welcome!
Our laundry room is very small, about 5 feet by 5 feet, so we have to make every inch count.
I have done this by utilizing the wall space with hanging baskets, shelves with wooden crates, and even a rack on the back of the door, which I think has been the biggest life saver. We also keep all of our medicine in this large first aid kit. I painted over the front of it and spelled out the word ouch with stickers.
Like I mentioned, squeezing every inch out of this space for storage is huge. I used a combination of these wall baskets and these to hold misc. cleaning products like sponges, twine, and trash bags.
Our laundry hamper has a removable liner so it can be easily tossed into the wash when needed.
I also added a row of hooks behind the washer and dryer to hold bags. These bags also serve a purpose for mis matched socks, dog supplies like leashes and collars, one even holds packaging tape.
A glimpse when the door is open to reveal the back of the door storage rack that holds all the cleaning supplies.
Above the electrical panel I have a battery rack and fire extinguishers.
It's these little details that make the space so efficient.

If you want to save time and keep your kitchen clean this Easter, think about "making" this cake!
No baking skills needed, no messy kitchen, and it is sure to impress your guests. I made this cake for under $15.00 and had a bunch of candy left over that I will use in my kids Easter baskets.
I got everything I needed at Walmart. I figured this would be the least expensive place to find everything. If I would have had extra time, I probably would have got the candy at the Dollar Tree, but the convenience of shopping for everything at one store won me over.
I also picked up some plastic eggs but only ended up using a half of one on the cake itself.
Then I just started placing everything on, starting with the chocolate bunnies and cadbury creme eggs, finishing off with the smaller eggs.
I think the bunnies are what really make the cake, aren't they cute?

I cannot tell you how excited I am just typing the word Spring!
On Friday I shared our spring table setting for you and I am going to pop in a couple more pictures of that here. I really think fresh flowers are the best most inexpensive way to add that touch of spring to the inside of your home. I usually pick them up once a week when I go to the grocery store. I have found Trader Joes to be the best source for them, as they are the best price and the biggest variety. These foxgloves I picked up at Trader Joes and they add the much needed pop of color on our coffee table. This time of year I start to crave color. When everything is so dreary outside and it gets dark so early, I just want that little bit of happy in the home. Flowers do that for me.
I added some blue pillows to the couch to keep things from looking to monochromatic as well.
I love the mix of light blue, navy, and indigo.
I still like to curl up on the couch with a big blanket, even year round, so one is always nearby. This is the one I have and I love it.
This sweet little pillow is from Oliver and Rust. You saw the dining room on my last post, but here is another peek at that in case you missed it.
On the sideboard I didn't do much, just a few speckled eggs from the dollar store in a vintage ironstone dish. You can find that wire basket right here. I have them all over, I love them.
Our coffee niche got a little pot of lavender as well.
One thing you will notice in our home is how I like to use trays, baskets, and wood totes to hold/corral items.
Our cookbooks are stored in a wooden crate under the microwave.
Condiments and utensils on the counter in a wooden tote.
And a makeshift "bar" gets stored in a divided wood container.
Etsy is a great place to find vintage wood totes, crates, and trays.
I use white bedding year round and just switch up the pillows with the seasons. White hydrangeas are all that was added to this space for now, but I will probably freshen things up even more later in the spring. I always have extra blankets on the bed and am not quite ready to give up the faux fur as it is still chilly in Washington! For bedroom sources, please go here.

We interrupt Friday favorites to bring you some great spring table setting ideas!
I love this time of year, and even though we have snow on the ground outside, spring is blooming indoors. I wanted to share with you an easy way to set a festive spring table without too much fuss. I used flowers I picked up at Trader Joes, our everyday white dishes and glasses, and fresh fruit. Again, I stuck with a mostly white color scheme with a bit of pink in the flowers and pops of green.
After arranging the flowers in my vase, I realized I wanted it a bit fuller, so I added in some faux white ranunculus'.
I thought it would be fun to add a personal touch with place card holders. I wanted to add a bit more color so I rummaged through my fridge and found these limes. I simply sliced a slit in the top of each one and popped in the name cards. You can do this with any fruit that matches your flowers or color scheme. Lemons or satsuma oranges would be darling. You don't need to go out and buy all new dishes, or spring themed dishes for a fun and happy spring table setting. My favorite colors are black and white and all shades of them.
Some people might say that they aren't colors, but they are and they can be calming, warm, bold, and everything in between. Not only do I dress mainly in black and white, but our home is mainly decorated with these colors too. Of course I like to throw in a little wood to warm things up, some blues to soften things, but mainly, black and white is it! I pulled together some of my favorite black and white staples. Things I have had for a while now and absolutely love. I do get tired of certain things, but these things stick. I've loved them for a while now and I can't see myself giving them up! To go to each product, click on the corresponding number at the bottom of this post. 1-These chairs are a classic cafe chair that look good with so many styles. I like them because they are small and we can fit many around our table when we have company. 2-I made a version of this, which you can see here. If you would like to purchase one, this is a good price point. 3-I just splurged and got this lamp. When you have wanted something for years, just give yourself permission to buy it! 4-This blanket is a great knockoff for over a thousand dollars less than the original! 5-This marble footed bowl is darling and inexpensive for what it is. I love it in the kitchen with fruit, but I have also used it near the kitchen sink with a sponge and soap in it. 6-Another splurge, but it makes a statement on your coffee table. 7-This bench sits at the foot of our bed and for the money it is sooooo good. I love it, can't say enough good things about it. 8-One of my favorite scents. I justify the price by re-purposing the container to a pen and pencil holder when the candle has burnt down. 9-Le Creuset pot, a must have in my book. I cook a lot and this has had a ton of use and still looks great. I fell off the healthy eating wagon and made fudge.
It's ok, it happens. We all need a little chocolate sometimes. I also doubled the recipe. Probably shouldn't have done that. Anyone want to come over and eat sugar with me?

There are so many different styles that I love. Farmhouse style is definitely one of them.
The farmhouse style is all about rustic woods, metal accents, and rustic simplicity. If you are thinking of incorporating the farmhouse style into your decor, here are a few tips! Add in some weathered finishes with furniture, or accent pieces. You can get most furniture in the weathered wood finish. This desk is one that could blend in nicely with the farmhouse look.
Dough bowls scream farmhouse.
Try wood stools in your kitchen for a rustic look.
Signs are also huge in the farmhouse style.

This is my favorite sign maker.
These oversized wine bottles look great in a grouping, or used with branches in them.
Vintage glass bottles, even collections of them lend themselves to this style.
You can buy entire collections on places like Etsy.
Cement accents also lend to the modern farmhouse look.

My clients living room got a refresh and it turned out beautifully!!
I first went over there about a month ago and took a look at her space and made a list of her wants for the room. Then I compiled a list for her of products to buy within the allotted budget. After she ordered them and got them in, I went over and we "shopped her house" for accents. Finally, a quick trip to a couple local shops for some missing pieces and voila, a whole new fresh space! The top pic is the before. It wasn't a bad space by an means, she just wanted newer furniture and a new look. I took into account the shape of the fireplace, the wood tones, and the cool tin ceiling when selecting pieces. This coffee table was an obvious choice for me because of the wood tones, the metal accents {remember the tin ceiling?} and the fact that is has a ton of storage. Storage was a requirement from the homeowner because they have a lot of blankets and don't always want them out. It was a pretty reasonably priced piece and is beautiful in person. We repurposed the mirror into the dining room where it was suited better. A quick trip to Target and we had a new round mirror. I really wanted a black framed one, but we were impatient and bought this one thinking if it didn't work we could spray paint it. The aged brass finish actually works really well with the colors in the room. The large glass vase and faux stems came from another space in her home. I did have her buy the 2 large floor lamps. I feel like they balance the fireplace nicely and add a soft glow to the room. They are perfect topped with linen shades. I also streamlined the mantle a bit by adding a simple pair of glass hurricanes with a small rectangular tray between. She can add seasonal decor to the tray, as she loves decorating for holidays. I think my favorite part of the room is the new chairs. They were by far the biggest splurge and the homeowner loves traditional, so it was a big leap of faith for her to purchase these. The whole family loves them though and they are so happy they went with my suggestion. If any of you are thinking about getting the Wells chairs, don't hesitate! They are super comfortable and as you can see, work well in a traditional space as well as a modern space. The color here is vintage caramel. I had her get faux fur cream lumbar pillows to tie into her new sofa, which she bought locally. Now, do you see that wall behind the couch with the corbels? I actually suggested a book shelf to her, because she likes storage and has a ton of books. I felt like it would occupy that wall with more of a purpose. She got the shelf locally but this is a similar one. On the other side of the room sits her new couch. We left the artwork on the wall behind the couch as it was great! Photos taken by the homeowner and enlarged onto canvas' I love incorporating sentimental items into peoples spaces. In fact, you can't see from the pictures here, but I also hung a couple pieces of art made by her kids. And here is a few more pictures I took just for fun. I apologize for the quality, I only had my camera phone on me!

Happy Friday AND happy March! Typing that just made me so happy. One month closer to warm weather. I feel like I have a ton to share with you today.
