To be honest, I had never heard of the Levain Bakery before last week.
But then I had the chance to try them and I was in love. They are giant cake like cookies with flavors like dark chocolate peanut butter cup, dark chocolate chocolate chip, and chocolate chip walnut. A box of 8 is $49, and they can be shipped to you! I came home after trying them and decided I needed to make some. So I googled recipes and came up with my own version after tweaking a couple I found on the web. Here are how my copycat Levain Bakery chocolate chip turned out!
If you love this recipe as much as I do, please help spread the word by pinning any of these images!

Hello and welcome!
Today I am joining some fabulous blogging friends to share with you are tips and tricks for making this Mothers Day a success.
I always love to set a pretty table, each one being unique in it's own way.
This year I was inspired by these little blue pots I found at the dollar spot at Target. Usually when I am coming up a "theme" or color scheme, I tend to find one item that I know I want to use, and go from there in coordinating items.
I thought these little pots were so sweet and they are a great take home gift for each guest, planted with a succulent.
I love the non fussy look of crumpled linen in a casual space like this.
Bright flowers in the center add a little punch of color.
Now head over to the blogs below to see more great inspiration for Mothers Day! This project came to be because of a picture I saw on Instagram.
I fell in love with this modern piece of art and wanted one for myself.
Now, let me explain a little something about myself.
I am impulsive. When I see something I want, sometimes I don't want to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive in the mail.
So I decided I would make my own.
I first went to HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, World Market, Ross, and Target trying to find the right size frame, striking out at each store.
So finally I went to a local thrift store and voila, there it was for $3.99.
Now that I had the frame, I needed a big blank canvas. I stopped in on my way home to the local dollar store and picked up a piece of white poster board for 50 cents.
Once I was home I promptly went to sketching out my design with a pencil and a ruler.
When I had drawn out what I liked, I painted it all in with black craft paint.
After it was dry, I popped it in my frame and voila.
I can't believe I only spent $4.49 on this entire project.
It just goes to show that art doesn't have to cost a fortune.
I love the graphic punch it gives to this room.
Here is a super close up if you are inspired to make your own and use this as a pattern.
Or, you could simply print this off and frame it!
I am not an artist by any means, but it was fun to be able to pull off a piece in a matter of hours and actually like how it turned out!

I stumbled across this home on Domino and my jaw dropped.
I love the mix of old and new and all the colors and textures. I will let the pictures do the talking.

I know. It is shocking that I am writing about colorful interiors.
Even though our home is very neutral, that doesn't mean I don't love a good colorful space. There are several spaces that stick out in my mind when I think of happy, fun, and colorful interiors. Grace from A Storied Style is one of them. For the One Room Challenge one year, she created the most fun bunk room I think I have ever laid my eyes on. The blue color, the attention to detail, the wallpaper, the textiles, it's so so so good. Look at these blue doors on her kids bathroom! They are fantastic.
Another fun blogger I follow is Kristin from The Hunted Interior.
Her home is full of neutrals, but also has fun pops of color which I love.
At first glance, her library looks pretty neutral. But if you look further, you will see a lot of color in the books and the artwork.
Check out this transformation she did on this desk and the alcove it sits in.
I love, love, love her teal sectional. You can follow Kristin here on Instagram.
I could never be this brave, but Gwen who writes The Makerista, nailed this room.
Her bookshelf styling is on point.
Check out their man cave which I am sure any guy would die for.
You can follow along with all of Gwen's yummy photos, right here on Instagram.
What is your take on colorful interiors? Do you go bold or play it safe with neutrals like me?
I love so many different styles that it is hard to nail just one down. I think these three have it dialed down to a science, wouldn't you say?

Happy Monday, and welcome to shop this room.
I have sourced out this great space for you, and I hope you find it helpful!
This room is modern, yet rustic. Sparse yet cozy.
It is very chic with it's furnishings, colors, and textures.
This dining table is very similar in design.
While these chairs are not an exact match, they are super inexpensive and I feel like they give the same feel.
If it was me, I feel like these would be a better fit.
Drape these over each chair to finish them off.
Choose from any of these vintage wire baskets to house all your drinks on the table.
I love how they used cafe lights indoors here, so fun!
I really love how cozy this multi purpose room is.

Hello, and happy Friday!
I have a bunch of fun things to share with you for Friday favorites this week, starting with some great Target deals! This jumpsuit is a must for spring. It is so cute on! It would be darling paired with a white denim jacket and heels. So cute. This is another dress that is under $25.00 and also so so cute. And since we are talking clothes/shoes, I just bought these {dirt cheap} for summer! Can't wait until they come in the mail! The One Room Challenge has officially started. I love following along with the designers as they make over their spaces in 6 short weeks. The fact that these come in all white makes them all the more appealing to me! I am finishing up the makeover on Savannah's room and I should be ready to show it to you within a week or so! Art work is hung, roman shades are up, just need to add the lighting. I am loving how it is turning out! I love this bedroom. You can see the whole house here. In our area, you would only be able to buy a 900 square foot shack for that price! Makes me want to move to Texas. This is a genius wall treatment and I must find somewhere to do it. I hope you all have a great weekend. We are getting away to the mountains for one last ski trip with some friends. Should be a fun one! xoxo from http://www.mysweetsavannahblog.com/2019/04/friday-favorites.html
Leanne and her brother Steve made over this home and after I watched it, I just about died. So many textures, neutrals, all the good things.
I think I am drawn to the mountain style and rustic nature. This wall of neutral artwork is so creamy and dreamy. The wood dough bowl on the bench is so good. I was nervous when she started white washing the faux rocks on the fireplace, but I do like the overall look in the end. Besides that, it really makes the mantle pop.
A slipcovered couch and chairs in linen lend to that laid back feel.
The lighting choice in here is unexpected, but it works!
Oversized lighting over the dining table is great, as is the chairs and cowhide rugs.
I especially like how they used several to fill up the space under the massive dining table that Steve built.
The custom cabinetry was made to look like a continuous piece of furniture.
I love the simple floating shelves with all the black pottery.
The mix of old and new are just stunning. Those chairs are calling my name!
Isn't it just all sorts of lovely?
I hope you enjoyed it as much as me!
You have seen her new lighting line at Target right? So good!

I spotted a really cute wood bread board in the dollar spot {although it was $5} at Target yesterday. It was plain wood but had cute white bunny ears on it.
I have been wanting to make something for Easter and thought this was the perfect blank slate for a Rae Dunn inspired Easter trivet. Here is how you can make one too! Start with your blank wood trivet. I couldn't find these online, so you might have to scoop one up next time you are in Target.
Print out this pattern in a 5x7 on plain printer paper.
Flip the paper over and scribble pencil all over the back of the lettering.
Once that is done, flip it back over and tape it to your board.
Using a ballpoint pen and pressing firmly, trace over the lettering.
Remove paper. The pencil lead will have transferred onto the wood. If it didn't transfer dark enough, you may not have been pressing hard enough. Using black craft paint and a fine paintbrush, paint over your penciled in letters. Don't let this step intimidate you. This font is very forgiving and it doesn't need to be perfect. If you would like to distress it a little, wait till dry and lightly go over it with a fine grit sanding block or sandpaper.
Display your piece for the spring season!
Not bad for a $5 project and 15 minutes of your time!
xoxo
